The initiative Path to the Democratization of the South: Childhood, Adolescence, and Youth for Climate Action, led by the organization Life of Pachamama, aims to amplify the voices of young changemakers, particularly from the Global South, in global climate decision-making. With a focus on justice for all forms of life, this initiative provides young leaders with the tools and opportunities to engage in international climate diplomacy, culminating in participation at COP30 in Belém, Brazil.
The Path from Cali to Belém
Recognizing the interconnectedness of biodiversity and climate change, this initiative establishes a direct pathway from COP16 of the Convention on Biological Diversity to COP30 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Participants will gain the knowledge and experience needed to engage in high-level climate discussions effectively.
About the program

This training will enhance participants’ technical knowledge and equip them with practical skills to analyze and respond to climate challenges.
Selection of COP30 Delegates
At the conclusion of the training, the most committed and well-prepared participants will be selected to represent their communities at COP30. Selection will be based on their performance, engagement, and ability to advocate effectively in the global climate space.
Knowledge Transfer and Local Impact
Post-COP30, delegates will return to their communities with the tools and resources to share insights and strengthen local advocacy efforts. They will organize outreach activities to ensure that the knowledge gained at COP30 translates into tangible actions at the grassroots level.
