The U.S.-Pacific Resilience and Adaptation Fellowship Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State, is now accepting applications for fully funded Master’s and PhD scholarships at the University of the South Pacific (USP). This opportunity supports the next generation of Pacific leaders tackling climate change and resilience challenges across the region.

The 2nd Call for Applications specifically invites citizens from USP member countries that were not represented in the first round: Cook Islands, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Tokelau, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. Applicants from Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Kiribati are also welcome to apply.

🌏 Location: University of the South Pacific, Fiji

💼 Programs:

  • PhD (3 years / 6 semesters)
  • Master’s by Research (18 months / 3 semesters)

🎓 Eligibility:

  • Citizens of USP member countries (priority to 8 underrepresented countries)
  • Master’s: ≤35 years old | PhD: ≤45 years old
  • Strong academic record and research interest in climate-related fields

💰 Scholarship Includes:

  • Annual living allowance (FJ$24,000 PhD / FJ$21,600 Master’s)
  • Research grant (up to FJ$45,000 for PhD / FJ$20,000 for Master’s)
  • Laptop, book allowance, dependent support, and air travel
