ICIMOD Seeks Senior Project Coordinator for Himalayan Resilience Enabling Action Programme (HI-REAP) 🌿

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) is recruiting a Senior Project Coordinator to lead the Himalayan Resilience Enabling Action Programme (HI-REAP). This role involves coordinating efforts across ICIMOD’s Strategic Groups to ensure the successful delivery of HI-REAP’s objectives.

The Himalayan Resilience Enabling Action Programme (HI-REAP) is one of the components of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office’s (FCDO) Climate Action for Resilient Asia (CARA), initiative. HIREAP also has ADB, the World Bank, the UK Met Office and the UNDP Asia Regional Office as other partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programme Management & Coordination: Oversee and ensure the smooth implementation of HI-REAP activities, aligning with ICIMOD’s strategic vision.
  • Thought Leadership: Drive innovation and provide expertise on climate resilience and adaptation strategies for the region.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, ensuring clarity and cohesion in programme objectives.
  • Strategic Engagement & Institutional Support: Strengthen partnerships with key organizations, including the FCDO, ADB, World Bank, and UNDP Asia Regional Office.
  • Staff Supervision: Lead and mentor the HI-REAP team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in delivering evidence-based policy and practice solutions for inclusive and climate-resilient development, through multi-country collaborations on/or regional and transboundary challenges.
  • At least 5 years experience in leading and coordinating large and complex programmes, including managing partnerships, leading multisectoral coordination and interdisciplinary teams, monitoring and reporting, and complex budget management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

Duration and location:

This is a three-year role, based in ICIMOD’s head office in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Remuneration: USD 61,175
