Our expertise in climate change adaptation and participatory methods engages diverse audiences with environmental research and helps inform effective adaptation to climate change, influencing both policy and practice.
Our research areas include climate change adaptation, climate services, climate finance, transdisciplinary knowledge co-production, transboundary climate risk, disaster resilience and knowledge management.
The role
We are seeking a Knowledge Manager to connect different communities of research, policy and practice for the Maximising UK Adaptation to Climate Change (MACC) Hub project. The UKRI-funded MACC Hub, led by King’s College London, is being launched to deliver faster and more impactful action in the UK to help all UK nations prepare for the predicted effects of climate change. The MACC Hub aims to inform a national climate change adaptation plan by addressing current barriers around public awareness, policy, legislation and climate data that might be hindering the UK’s ability to adapt to climate change.
As a Knowledge Manager, you will co-produce a knowledge, learning and networking hub for the project based on needs of the Devolved Administrations. As part of this role, you will elicit the needs of different user groups to co-design an online space that connects communities of research, policy and practice together to learn, share and connect with one another. You will also maintain and support the website throughout the project to ensure the future legacy of the knowledge created.
The website will be the key portal to disseminate science-based, policy-relevant information to support effective and sustainable adaptation to climate change in the UK. The MACC Hub website will link directly to weADAPT, a global climate change adaptation platform and network managed by SEI Oxford, connecting UK-relevant work with research and practice frontiers and organisations working on related issued worldwide.
Additional knowledge management activities related to other EU-funded projects, such as the MAIA and AGORA projects, will also be part of this role.
