Arif Cem Gündoğan joined TSKB (Industrial Development Bank of Turkey) Sustainability Consultancy - Escarus as of May 2018. He is a climate change and low carbon development consultant with a solid project and program management experience. His specific areas of expertise are climate policy analysis and design, climate related risk assessment and disclosure, scenario analysis. He closely follows international climate negotiations as well as evolving climate finance and climate related financial disclosures landscape.
Before joining the Escarus team, he worked as a climate change consultant at GTE, a prominent carbon management and climate services company in Turkey. Previously, he was in charge of the Prosperity Fund Turkey Program of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He also has freelance consultancy experience where he closely worked with local governments in designing climate change action plans and with NGO’s in conducting climate and low carbon development focused research.
Arif Cem holds master’s degree in Environment and Development from King’s College London where he studied as a Jean Monnet Scholar. Arif Cem also holds certificates from the University of East Anglia on Climate Change, Adaptation and Development and London School of Economics and Political Science on Economics and Governance of Climate Change.
