Background of the “Preparation of a Strategic Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) Project”- Phase I
A proposal of a “Preparation of a Strategic Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) Project”- Phase I was developed by the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) through the Ministry of Economy and Finance in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and also jointly contributed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the World Bank Group.
This proposal has been approved by the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) for budget of 1.5 million USD and it was signed agreement between the Ministry of Economy and Finance and World Bank on 03 November 2010 which has been implemented by the Climate Change Department of the Ministry of Environment (CCD-MoE) over a period of 18 months. However, it has been extended for another year till January 2013.
This project focuses on Cambodia’s Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Infrastructure through mitigation and adaptation measures that will ensure that investments do consider positive or negative impacts of possible climatic variations.
