One Water One Health : from innovation to field implementation
International background / Graduate of the Pasteur Institute in Immunology and Infectious Diseases, specialized in Public Health and Environmental Risks, I have been involved for 15 years in Environmental Health innovations & development, a major component of the One Health approach.
At the international level, I have impulsed environmental health innovations at science to policy level, aimed at better protecting human and ecosystem health from the cocktail effects of chemical pollutants in the water cycle. At the heart of these international Science-Policy accelerator projects, I have raised awareness and bring together all international stakeholders to promote and support the opportunity to embed the OneHealth approach to the water cycle, an approach that is now mature and deployable and fully supported by both International Water Association (IWA) and WHO Water Safety Planning.
I recently got a Master Degree at Sciences Po Paris, specialised in public developpement policies aiming to combine One Environmental major stakes and opportunities to public policy agendas, and promote the integration of Environmental Determinants of Health in All Policies.
My main challenge is now to raise awareness, train, and strengthen environmental health capacity building in southern countries to both promote smart and sustainable investments aiming to better protect living beings from environmental chemical pollution (air, water, soil, waste), reduce related chronic exposure and ever growing NCDs health expenses, and actively enhance joint action programs, at intersectoral country level focused on key Environmental Determinants of Health (Air - Water - Soils - Waste).
In the spirit of Learning Territories, I mobilize decision-makers (public, private, academic, institutional, territories, NGOs, civil society) to strengthen intersectoral synergies to preserve our common goods environmental determinants of health, in line with the SDGs, the UNEP-WHO strategic health-environment alliance (HESA), and the international One Sustainable Health initiative.
