DST Inspire Faculty @ DCCC, IISc Bangalore, Former postdoc at University of Zurich, Remote Sensing and GIS, Disaster and risk, Early Warning System (EWS)
I work on climate impact on the Himalayan Cryosphere, remote sensing-based glacier modeling, and modeling of glacial lake outburst floods and other mountain hazards.
My research expertise deals with several aspects of high mountain hazards, risks, and adaptation.
I am involved in investigating the climate impacts on the cryosphere and its related socio-economic environment. I am interested in multi-disciplinary and cross-sectoral research around the globe including the Himalayas, the Andes, Iceland, and Central Asia, both at a local scale and in regional-scale assessments. My research involves understanding various mass movement processes in high mountain geosystems focusing on recent dynamics. I am involved in modeling different forms of potential mass movement including landslides, avalanches, and rockfall.
