Postdoctoral Research Associate
I am currently working as a "Marie Curie Incoming International Postdoctoral Fellow" on a project entitled "ForAdapt", which aims to develop decision support for sustainable forest management on cross-border national parks of central Europe. The project will develop innovative solutions that account for future uncertainties about climate change and management funds while maintaining forest ecosystem services over the long-term.
Recent projects include US-based efforts in wildlife population modeling, and collaborative decision analysis for linking science with natural resource management, especially in applications related to conservation of species, ecosystem function, and ecosystem services. In two of the projects, one focused on San Francisco Bay (California) and the other on the barrier islands along the Gulf Coast, he has used structured decision making and collaborative decision analytic approaches to solve multi-objective and multi-scale conservation problems. The California project is being carried out through a contract with San Francisco Bay Joint Venture, and the Gulf Coast project is through a contract with University of Louisiana.
In another project, I led the development of a quantitative framework to assess the per-capita demographic contribution among a network of habitats for migratory wildlife species. This project was sponsored through the National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.
