Indepentent Consutant
I work as a consultant dealing with adaptation to climate change. Currently I am focused on forest fires and air pollution. I spent 25 years as a scientist with the USDA- Forest Service and 10 plus years as an academic researcher dealing with climate change and mountain ecosystems. I was conveining lead author of IPCC AR3 Chapter on Effects of Climate Change on Mountain areas.
Recently, I have been involved with the IPROMO courses co organized by the UN FAO's Mountain Partnership and the University of Turino faculty of agriculture. IPROMO is an advanced learning experience associted with various aspects of sustainable devlopment in mountain environments. For the past few years I have lectured on climate change and adaptation at the course and in 2013 I was the course director.
I am a senior scientist (emeritus) and fellow of the cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere, CIRA, at Colorado State University, in Fort Colllins, Colorado
