Environment and Climate Change Advisor
I have been with the climate change adaptation works for the last eight years working for INGO based in Nepal. What I would find is that global warming is disrupting the regional climate parameters such as rainfall (monsoon rain in South Asia and winter rain in western Nepal), snow fall and temperature in highland of Nepal which have impacted mostly the local survival means such as water sources, agriculture, forest and wild herbs. Therefore while devising and implementing the local adaptation plan of action it is vital that the poor local people are resourced with financial and technical inputs compatible with the local context and ensure that local people's meaningful participation is there including women and ingenious communities, and climate change policy need to be framed and amended accordingly.
