I am a writer, journalist, and a public speaker. Several of my articles have been published in numerous Arabic and Western newspapers, including the Washington Post, French TV5 Monde, Aftonbladet, MiddleEast Eye, and Al-Arabiya. One of the articles entitled “Why don’t men cover their faces” was translated to 5 languages and was recommended by The Mirror.BeforeI became a journalist I worked with the United Nations (ESCWA) in Beirut as a research assistant.I have led several social campaigns during the last 10 years that are related to women's rights, sustainability, equality. These campaigns gained the attention of the international media like The Washignton Post, New York times, CNN, BBC..etc.I trained 100 young male and females from Yemen on 'How to lead a successful campaign' these trainings were funded by UN Women.I continuously participate in several key events relating to Yemen at the regional and international levels such as moderating a meeting between a group of nine (a coalition of Yemeni women working for peace), the Swedish foreign ministry, and the Swedish Institute, being a panelist in a session at the Swedish parliament about Baha'is rights.I am a member of the UN-Women Yemeni Women’s Pact for Peace and Security and I represent the civil society in the National Steering committee for the Women Peace & Humanitarian Fund which is chaired by the United Nations Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs.
