Researcher-Consultant
Paul Ofei-Manu (Ph.D.) is a sustainability researcher/consultant. For six years, he was the Senior Policy Researcher and Manager for Education at the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) in Hayama, Japan until 2017. He was previously a researcher and adjunct lecturer in sustainability at Miyagi National University of Education in Sendai, Japan. His current research areas include disaster risk reduction (DRR) education/learning, and DRR-climate change adaptation (CCA) linkages, climate fragility risks, capacity development/assessment, local governance, quality education and the sustainable development goals (SDGs), and social learning, Paul has played vital roles in multi-country research on CCA-DRR linkages, education for sustainable development (ESD) and education for sustainable consumption (ESC). Paul is a Practitioner Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) (UK) He was the external evaluator of UNESCO’s Japanese Funds-in-Trust ESD Project and is a member of the Global Environmental Education Partnership Advisory Group.
