Land and Water Programme Coordinator
Dr Melike Kuş has a City and Regional Planning background and studied a masters in Environmental Monitoring and Assessment in University of Southampton. She obtained her PhD degree in Earth System Sciences in Middle East Technical University, specializing in climate change vulnerability in agriculture and coping methods of farmers with the climatic changes and extremes. Ms Kuş has been working intensively with the farmers and local authorities on site and aims at communicating scientific findings regarding climate change and requirements of adaptation to the farming community considering constraints of socioeconomic and cultural structure in the agricultural sector. She has conducted extensive fieldwork on natural resource management, community based monitoring and assessment, value chain analysis, environmental impact assessment and environmental planning.
