I have been involved in research, engagement and capacity building in relation to sustainability in the UK and Chile since 1992. I am currently leading CEP's work in participation and consultation and climate change adaptation. Community resilience has become an increasing focus of our work: we are eveluating a pathfinder project on community resilience to flooding and looking at community resilience to cliamte change. I have also been involved in projects on social vulnerability and flooding, community impacts of coastal erosion, barriers to climate change adaptation and the promotion and evaluation of behaviour change initiatives. I worked in Chile for fifteen years from 1984 - 2000, the last eight years with a local NGO, Ecologia y Desarrollo, on a range of community capacity building ans sustainability initiatives.
