I am a lawyer and researcher with international work experience in social and environmental policy, climate change and sustainability. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Juridical and Social Sciences (PUCRS), a postgraduate degree in Environmental and Urban Law (Universidade Anhanguera Uniderp) and a Master of Science in Nature, Society and Environmental Policy (University of Oxford). As a researcher I have conducted projects and activities related to forest governance, land use planning, financial mechanisms for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+), Payment for Environmental Services, forest and environmental funds, indigenous rights and land tenure. I have also investigated issues related to energy policy and the role of media in social and environmental policy-making in Brazil. As a lawyer I have experienced working with Brazilian, international and EU environmental law.
More recently, I have been working at the Sub-Secretariat of Sustainable Development in the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of the Brazilian Presidency as a project manager in the following agendas:
- Long term and strategic planning for national development policies related to Climate Change - Future Adaptation planning and economic analysis, with a focus on the agriculture and health sectors - Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
