I lead the Climate and Environment Committee of the Accra Global Shapers community (WEF). We work on adapting, building resilience and creating awareness in our community to meet our global goals on climate change. I worked with the Deutsch Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) . I am a trained public speaker and a former President of the Airport Toastmasters Club with more than 30 speeches, including trainings and workshops.
My background in environmental law enables my understanding in environmental regulations , policies and their impact.
I am in my second term in the prestigious Young Women Leadership for Climate Adaptation training program with the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens, Global Center on Adaptation, CARE International & Diplomatische Akademie Wien;
I have extensive training in social Entrepreneurship, Climate knowledge, a mini MBA , the future of work, unlocking investments and finance in emerging economies from the OLC( Worldbank group) , HavardX - Chan School, UNFCCC and British Council.
I studied Social work (Major) and sociology during my first degree. I am finalising my post first degree studies in law .
My motivaion centres around having a future for and on this planet, that supports us. Generally, I want to eradication poverty, however, you cannot do that on an extinguished planet thus I believe in harnessing the opportunities of the green economy for Job creation and poverty eradication. From community level impact, to privately sector adaptation and government involvement.
Notably , Countries in Africa and other Least Developed Countries are law emitters yet we suffer the consequences of the climate crisis the most. There is need to build resilience. Who is better motivated to make it happen than me who has and is still experiencing the effects first hand.
I believe that - “The developing world has the rare opportunity to get it right from the start i.e. we are able to inculcate sustainability into the process of our development ”.
Climate Change Adaptation: I have wealth of experience and knowledge in Climate Adaptation from my advocacy and project creation work with GYCN.
The Young Women Leadership in Adaptation has extensively trained me on Climate Change adaptation and the Leadership required to implement successful projects. It has provided tools of world class standards to make implementation anywhere a success. On the other hand it employed specific case studies to also enhance specialised knowledge and skill.
My job at the Centre for Green Growth qualifies and equips me for this role. I am responsible for project development in adaptation with particular concentration on Socioeconomic sectors and impact. This means that I handle partnership engagement, the project management and stake holder engagement etc.
Oceans: I have advocated against plastic pollution extensively. I co founded ECO-CURA Ltd to enhance the advocacy and create the platform the makes accessible alternatives to single use plastics. I identified that eco-friendly alternatives was one of the best ways to enhance cleaner oceans and protect our ocean lives.
My training and experience in several speaking engagements within and outside climate Change equips me .
As a self starter, I co- founded centre for Green Growth and Eco-Cura.
I have curated, facilitated, convened and organised events in all my employments and extracurricular till date. At the 2021 Local Conference of Youth ( LCOY)in Ghana, I facilitated the Green Jobs session.
I am a persuasive speaker and have used my voice and words to advocate on different platforms. I have written articles and contributed to papers . I mostly use social media and more to enhance my reach and create awareness, thus I am equipped for media outreach and engagement.
