Currently worksing as Research Director, Nodal Centre Trivandrum of the Christ University, Bangalore, India.
More than 30 years' experience in development - planning, managing, montoring and documenting projects and programmes - with special focus on enhancing capacities of the weaker sectons- small farmers, women, socially disadvanted groups, disaster-affected people, etc. Mainly worked in Kerala, India with limited experiences in Sri Lanka and South India.
Committed to good governance, participatory/people-centred development, environment friendly practices, improving quality of life of the weaker sectons, constructive relations and collaboration with all agencies, and inclusiveness - in development.
Main focus at present are on the following topics:
(a) enhancing the capacity of young researchers - in research and teaching.
(b) evaluation, studies, documenting good practices, key learnings ....
(c) promtoing good governance;
(d) supporting community based - people driven - climate management;
(f) capacitating organisations of people to effectively address their problems - through training, sharing of experiences, and resources
(g) networking with institutions and persons of shared interest; and
(h) support govenment and non-governmental institutions in formulatng appropriate policies and programmes.
