Assistant Professor
Dr Arif Watto is currently working as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan. He also served in the same position at the U.S., Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security (USPCAS-AFS) at the same university. He is involved in teaching both graduate and postgraduate students and research supervision of MSc and MPhil students.
Dr Watto holds a PhD in agricultural and resource economics from the University of Western Australia. Dr Watto has a bachelor and master’s degrees with Honours in Agricultural Extension from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad-the leading agricultural university in Pakistan.
Dr Watto has worked and collaborated with various organizations including Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Pakistan, the Swiss National Centre for Competence in Research (NCCR), Switzerland, Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research and the University of Western Australia. His research areas mainly include water security, resource use efficiency and governance, rural development and agricultural extension. His research findings have been published in reputed international journals such as Journal of Hydrology, Water Policy, Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture and International Transactions in Operational Research.
