The School of Environmental Science and Management at Pokhara University offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. In addition to its academic programs, SchEMS’ work encompasses research, technical investigations for development works, and training services in Environmental Impact Assessment, Climate Finance, Climate Change Loss & Damage, Mainstreaming Climate Change and Environment into the development work, Climate Adaptation studies, and Environmental Baseline Studies & GIS remote sensing.
The Nepal Climate Initiative (NCI), a think-tank based at Pokhara University, has created detailed sourcebooks on developing a climate rationale, and on gender equality and social inclusion, set in the Nepal context. NCI has also designed tailored training programs and materials to strengthen knowledge and skills in climate rationale development and Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) integration for multilateral climate finance proposals. Local and district-level adaptation is an important focus of NCI’s work.
