The private sector is realizing that there are significant risks to their businesses related to climate change impacts. In Brazil, the Business for Climate Platform (EPC) has established a Framework and tool to support the elaboration of corporate strategies for adaptation to climate change.

Stakeholder participation can be used to democratise science and empower citizens, to inform policy making and to advise decision-making processes.

Identification of stakeholders, and developing a plan for their participation throughout the screening process will be based on sound stakeholder analysis.
