Student
We are students from the Kic InnoEnergy master programme SELECT who would like to present here our ongoing project on Power to Gas (P2G) with the aim of participating in this experience exchange.
P2G is a novel concept striving to better match the fluctuating production of renewable electricity generation with the electrical demand. By converting excess energy into hydrogen or natural gas, this technology provides energy storage. We are currently developing a small-scale application of P2G, which features solar PV and/or a micro wind turbine for power production. Our system utilizes an electrolyser to yield hydrogen, which then feeds into a fuel cell.
The optimization of this system is performed in simultaneous consideration with the market (SWOT and Business Model Canvas) and technology (HOMER). This container sized system aims to serve isolated un-electrified regions (base of the pyramid) or disaster response missions. Once deployed it will deliver the following benefits:
· Sustainability, Reduced toxicological impact (no batteries used), Constant and reliable electricity production, Mobility, Scalability, Security of supply
We hope that our participation in weADAPT community will help us further develope the aformentioned project!
