Senior Lecturer Environmental Health
I'm a public health physician and senior lecturer in environmental health at the Department of Preventive & Social Medicine, University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
Having spent the past decade using participatory systems thinking and modelling, as well as applied epidemiology, to support climate mitigation decision making for health and health equity, I'm now moving into the climate change adaptation space, using similar approaches, and putting community wellbeing outcomes at the heart of decision-making.
This is partly because significant parts of my small city are already feeling the effects of sea level rise and repeated flooding, with impacts on housing, potential movement of communities and health equity.
