Consultant
Drawing on experience in 39 countries, Britt specializes in climate adaptation with an emphasis on community-driven and ecosystem-based solutions including capacity building, collaborative conservation, integrated watershed management, sustainable water resource management, agroecology, ecological restoration, sustainable livelihoods, and disaster risk reduction. Her fieldwork spans working with the United Nations Development Program to direct engagement with small-scale farmers and local resource managers around the world. As an applied scientist, Britt’s experience includes project design, team management, facilitation, community-engagement, monitoring, and evaluation. Complementing her work as an applied scientist, Britt has worked with hundreds of university and high school students over the last nine years, designing and instructing seminars, field studies, and study-abroad curriculums related to her professional specialties. She encourages students to use critical analysis, science, and empathy to develop culturally appropriate and sustainable solutions to the issues we confront as a global community. As a visual storyteller, Britt is a photographer and writer associated with National Geographic. Her other publications include the Washington Post, The New Zealand Herald, and the Outdoor Journal India. Britt is fluent in English and Spanish.
