U-Report Global Country Support
Charlie initially served UNICEF in 2010 as part of the PFP (Private Fundraising Partnerships) team. Passionate into the digital, creative, and innovation industry, Charlie then joined the UNICEF Global Innovation Center team to lead the launch of U-Report and the Internet of Good Things in Malawi, South-East Africa in 2018.
During his tenure, he has successfully sealed the deal with partners including youth forums, mobile network operators, public figures/celebrities and the government to drive the marketing campaign of the initiative. U-Report Malawi has recruited over 160,000 U-Reporters against a target of 60,000, making it the fastest-growing U-Reporters in the world (out of 42 countries).
He is currently part of the Youth Engagement team at UNICEF Division of Global Communication and Advocacy (DGCA) managing more than 80 U-Report countries support.
Prior to his nonprofit career, he has worked with various multinational corporations like IBM and Carlson Marketing – mostly in the business development field. Charlie earned a Masters in International Business from Auckland University and a B.A. in Economics from Trisakti School of Management. He holds Google Partner and Digital Garage certifications endorsed by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Europe. Charlie was also a New Zealand ASEAN Scholar.
His personality types are DISC IS (Harmonizer), Myers-Briggs ISFP, and Enneagram 9.
Charlie is currently based in Jakarta, Indonesia.
