Principal Consultant
Charlotte Sterrett specialises in climate change adaptation policy and practice, setting up her own consultancy business in 2010 servicing UN agencies, government departments, NGOs and civil society. Previously she worked with Oxfam Great Britain as their lead adviser on climate change adaptation. This involved supporting country programs in developing and implementing climate change adaptation strategies; providing linkages between program experience and Oxfam’s communications on climate change; and supporting gathering and sharing of best practice on vulnerable livelihoods programming. Prior to this she worked for Oxfam Australia, based in Melbourne, as a policy adviser on climate change, leading the organisation’s campaign and advocacy work on climate change, with a particular focus on the pacific region. Prior to this, she worked with the southern Africa unit undertaking research and programming on climate change, HIV and AIDS and food security. Charlotte has undertaken research on climate change from a community-based perspective, for campaigning in Australia, as well as the development of briefing papers on international adaptation financing. Charlotte is currently based in Melbourne, Australia.
