Elisa Sainz de Murieta’s research interests are focused on climate policy and adaptation, sea level rise, and biodiversity and ecosystem services related issues. As former Director of Biodiversity of the Basque Government, she has a strong background on management and policy making. While in this position, she was in charge of in charge of framework planning for protected areas, the development of the Basque Centre for Biodiversity and the Strategy for Biodiversity 2009-2013.
She is currently developing her PhD on sea-level rise, economic valuation of related impacts and definition of adaptation policies for the Basque Country.
