International Consultant and Scientific Researcher
I am a researcher and a practitioner passionate about the intersection between nature and society. My career has been driven by my curiosity and willing to contribute to the most urgent world problems. Whether it’s investigating the social impacts of disasters, as in my doctoral dissertation; assessing the most pressing needs of marginalized populations, as I did for UNDP Brazil; or in implementing a food security project in the rural area of El Salvador, as a UNV; I’ve always been able to efficiently coordinate projects, deal with people, and implement strategic solutions.
Besides having 15 years of national and international experience, I like to think of myself as a lifelong learner. I am always reading the news and scientific articles about different topics and always interested in listening to human experiences and stories.
Professionally, my specialties are:
+ Coordination of projects and program on disaster risk reduction, emergency response, and community resilience;
+ Vulnerability and capacity analysis;
+ Ability to manage the daily administrative load of projects and programs;
+ Partnership building;
+ Communication and presentation abilities in different languages and cultural environments;
+ Collaborative planning and project development in a wide variety of institutional arrangements;
+ Development of training and capacity building;
+ Data analysis, report generation, and excellent writing skills in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Personally, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing the guitar, practicing yoga, and watching football games. I also love to cook and talk about different topics.
