Director of Field Research
Lauren Grant is the Director of Field Research at Earth Refuge, where she coordinates research on climate migration across localities and differential vulnerabilities. She is the founder of the world’s first International School on Climate Migration, a five-week-long summer school, co-hosted by Earth Refuge and the Department of Development Studies at SOAS University of London, offered to more than 150 participants from around the world.
Lauren is currently pursuing an MSc in Violence, Conflict and Development at SOAS University of London (UK). She holds an MA in Human Rights from the Legal Studies Department of Central European University (US/Hungary), and a BA in Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, through which she created an Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies specialization entitled Deconstructions of Institutionalized Oppressions and studied on exchange at Lancaster University (UK) and the University of British Columbia (CA). Lauren is also a recent graduate of the Genocide and Human Rights University Studies Program at the Zoryan Institute of the University of Toronto (CA).
