Marine Scientist
I am a Marine Scientist, a graduate of Bachelors of Science Coastal and Marine Resource Management. I have hands on practical experience in Active Mangrove Restoration and conservation biology. I have worked with community based organisations working in mangrove conservation and waste management such as COBEC based in Malindi and Big Ship CBO based in Mombasa. I have also worked with Lafarge Ecosystems Bamburi in their ecosystem management work and land reclamation processes. I am keen on practical research that address the emerging issues with regards to critical marine habitats (Mangroves, coral reefs and sea grasses) which significantly contribute to action on climate change by sequestering much more carbon compared to terrestrial ecosystems. My areas of interest include sustainable development, blue economy, valuation of ecosystem goods and services, climate change and marine pollution.
