Knowledge Broker
Patricia is a Fijian social scientist specialising in Traditional Ecological Knowledge, Disaster Risk Reduction and Science Communication.
Patricia is an alumni of The Australian National University’s Pacific Research Colloquium, CSIRO’s Knowledge Broker Support Programme, a fellow of the UN Global Youth Forum and an internationally accredited community trainer. She is a member of the Women’s International Network on DRR.
More recently, she was confirmed as a recipient for a grant by the Australian Research Council, through The Australian National University, for the Engendering Climate Change, Reframing Futures in Oceania Project.
Patricia’s research topic is titled “Moving Stories - Can Traditional Knowledge Inform Climate Change Relocation?”
She is solo mom to her 18 year old daughter, and makes time to indulge in her hobbies: aerial silk and hoop artistry, stand-up paddle boarding, bodybuilding, photography and adventure racing.
