Senior Scientist, Regional Thematic Coordinator
Dr. Safiétou SANFO is an Agricultural Economist at the WASCAL Competence Center and associatd professor at the university Thomas Sankara in Ouagadougou. She completed her Ph.D. at Sorbonne University (Université Paris 1, Panthéon Sorbonne). She is the coordinator of the WASCAL regional thematic on Rural Urban and Cross Border Migration. Her research interests lie in the area of agricultural economics, impact analysis using bio-economic and mathematical programming modelling. In recent years, she has focused on Climate Change, green economy, renewable energy, African farming system, Agricultural Land Use practices, rural urban migration, Risk, institutions and finances and potential adaptation Strategies for Rural West Africa. She has 9 years’ experience in teaching in Development Economics, Food security, Agricultural economics, Agri-Business, Sustainable Development and tutorial classes in microeconomics and statistics.
