Sam is a consultant with Arup's international development team. He provides strategic advice to Government, business and the international donor community on creating sustainable and resilient urban communities across the Asia-Pacific, particularly in relation to climate change and disasters.
Working with organisations including the Rockefeller Foundation, Siemens, New York State Commission, Habitat for Humanity and the Asian Development Bank, Sam has supported cities across Australia, Asia and the US to identify frailties in their physical structure, systems and social capital and develop resilience strategies which incorporate technology, land use and policy. He has also published widely on this topic.
Sam combines qualifications in economics, urban planning and program management with experience in developed and developing countries, to deliver social outcomes and economic benefits using appropriate tools and processes.
