PhD candidate, lecturer and researcher
Ms. Hoang is an enthusiastic person who loves to both teach young minds as well as nurture her own mind through research. She has 9 years of work experience as a lecturer, supervisor, and researcher at the University of Science, affiliated to Vietnam National University at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. One of the main subjects she taught is “Natural Resources Management”. Aligning with the broader social science approaches, her key thematic area of interest revolves around understanding their impacts of global climate change and its implications on Deltas of the world, around which she has continued to build her work. She is currently working as a part of an integrated project - Urbanizing deltas of the World (UDW) on Strengthening strategic delta planning process in Bangladesh, the Netherlands, and Vietnam. This work translates in a PhD position at the Wageningen University and Research (WUR) at the Netherlands. This PhD research specifically focuses on the changes in approaches and related innovative solutions to flood management in long-term Mekong delta processes. Given this background, she looks forward to applying her acquired knowledge in the real practical environment within Livelihoods, Water and Flood management sector.
