International Consultant on Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA)
Self motivated proactive and optimistic solutions seeker with over 20 years working on climate change adaptation around the globe. Love field work and workshop facilitation, particularly for Capacity Building initiatives including a learning by doing approach.
Currently a consultant for international organizations based in Europe, Africa and the Americas.
My work focuses on Ecosystem-based Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction, Ecosystem Services' Appraisal and Community Resilience Strengthening. Besides, since 2013 I've been exploring the environmental aspects of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) services delivery.
I've had the chance to work building capacities and doing climate vulnerability assessments and designing adaptation options around the world. Some of the countries I am more familiar with are: all central American countries -besides Chiapas, Mexico-; West and East African countries, including:, Mali, Benin, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania, which I have visited during missions with Wetlands International and IUCN - The Netherlands Committee-. Besides, among the south American countries where I have worked are: Ecuador, Argentina and Bolivia at the Gran Chaco Americano, a region shared by Bolivia, Paraguay & Argentina. Furthermore, India and the Philippines are two countries where I've been involved in capacity building activities along with the Partners for Resilience Programme, since 2012.
My main interest right now lies on integrating EbA in National and Sub-National Adaptation-related Plans, such as: land-use planning schemes.
