I was born in 1963 in a small Municipal area - Gobardanga, a historically important place in West Bengal, India. After my Graduation from West Bengal I have done Masters of Science (M Sc) and M Phil in Anthropology and Sociology and then Ph D in Anthropology from an Indian university (Sambalpur University, Orissa, India).
I have worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the Anthropological Survey of India, Senior Counselor at SOS Children's Villages of India, Senior Research Assistant in the Indian Social Institute, New Delhi, as Project Executive in the Environmental Resource Management (ERM) India, Manager (Environment-R & R) of CESC-ICML. Then, since 2000 worked in many other capacities as Director, Program for Natural Resources Management, PRISM, Technical Adviser, PRISM, Executive Director, PRISM, Team Leader, Consultant Anthropologist, Senior Sociologist; Senior Anthropologist, Local Field Coordinator, Social Considerations Expert, Project Management Specialist, R&R Specialist, Senior Research Coordinator, Programme Manager, Development Consultant, PRA/PLA Specialist, Slum Improvement and SIA Expert, Senior Advisor, Coordinator, Principal Investigator, Public Consultation Specialist, Project Manager, etc. for different organisations.
Received two International Awards so far, i.e. The International Cultural Diploma of Honor for achieving prominent positions in society because of exceptional contributions to professions and communities and The 1998 ERM Excellence Award in the category of GLOBAL PROJECTS for Social Assessment of Infrastructure Projects by the ERM International.
My interest areas are Disaster and Climate Change Resilience, Food Security-Safety-Nutrition, Environment Education, WASH, Knowledge Management, Networking, Partnership Management.
