Senior Consultant
Apar Paudyal undertakes research, analysis, engagement, and management of climate change and disaster risk reduction issues in Nepal. With over 14 years of professional experience, he has been offering technical and programmatic advice to Government to help build system, process, and capacity to manage climate change and disaster risk with a focus on building resilience, low carbon development, and achieving sustainable development. This includes exploring ways to integrate climate change concerns into development processes at the national, sectoral development, sub-national level, and private sectors by designing and facilitating processes that bring together science, policy and local/regional/global experience. He offers technical advice, catalytic thinking, proactive stimulation of innovative ideas, and opportunities to strategically manage and develop projects and programmes. He has a master’s degree in environmental science from Tribhuvan University. Prior joining to OPM, he has gained substantial work experience in climate change, disaster risk management, and biodiversity conservation issues working with UNDP Nepal, Practical Action South Asia, Local Initiatives for Biodiversity, Research and Development (LIBIRD), and Resources Himalaya Foundation (RHF).
