Sara Kupka

Trained in Political Sciences and Integrated Water Resources Management and being committed to social and environmental responsibility, I am experienced in working towards the implementation of sustainable, climate-friendly development at the subnational level of government. In my work as Policy Officer for Climate Change within Regions4, I am leading the advocacy efforts of the network in the global climate change agenda, including in front of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the European Union (EU). In this regard, I am experienced in implementing the direct collaboration of Regions4 and its members with the relevant bodies and partners internationally, as well as working on the integration of the different international environmental agendas, including the climate change and biodiversity agendas, and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Working with Regions4’s RegionsAdapt initiative has allowed me to advance my knowledge on environmental data reporting and evaluation, as well as on methods of knowledge sharing on climate change adaptation of subnational governments, and ensuring member engagement. I have advanced intercultural skills through working within a decentralised international team and within an international context, and am an efficient, flexible, and detailed-oriented team player, who is experienced in working independently and on short deadlines given the fast-evolving environment of the climate change context.
