After 13 years in the corporate sector, I opted to engage wholly with social development through involvement in anadivasi(indigenous people’s) region in Eastern India.
Since 1997, I am part of theIndian Network on Ethics and Climate Change(INECC), which focusses on decentralized, alternate energy options; diverse eco-system based adaptation efforts, underpinned by the local, traditional wisdom of communities; and in general, a grassroots and ethical approach to sustainable development.
I teach an elective course, Living with Climate Change, for undergraduate students.
An abiding interest is the development threshold – an inclusive global thrust towards dignity, autonomy and well-being, of individuals and communities, (as distinct from mere frugal, subsistence-level existence of the rural and urban marginalized) based on ecological, equitable and ethical sustainability.
