Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)

FSC lead in sustainable forest management, operating the world’s most rigorous and trusted forest certification system. It is an international non-profit, multistakeholder organization established in 1993 that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests via timber certification. This organization uses a market-based approach to transnational environmental policy.
Certification is just one way they put the sustainable forestry standards at their core to work. In partnership with a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders, they are developing new solutions focused on:
