OQACC
Developed in collaboration with the National Quebec Public Health Institute under the health component of the Action Plan on Climate Change 2013-201 Government of Quebec, the Quebec Observatory climate change adaptation (OQACC) aims to better equip public health authorities in their efforts to monitor individual and organizational adaptation to heat waves and floods. It also intends to support the health impact prevention efforts caused by these weather hazards.
The first phase of the Centre’s work over the period to 2017 and focuses on three distinct areas:
- Paint a picture of adaptation to extreme heat and flooding in the Quebec population, the municipalities and organizations in the health network;
- develop a better understanding of the determinants of this adaptation; and
- contribute to the training of future by welcoming students and students in higher education.
