SRC

SRC is an applied research and technology organization founded in 1947 to provide science and technology support to industry and government. Originally focused on Saskatchewan industry, SRC now serves over 1,900 clients world-wide representing industry, government and NGOs. SRC works in the areas of environment, traditional and alternative energy, mining and minerals, and agriculture and biotechnology. SRC has a long history of research and outreach in climate change adaptation, going back to understanding the impacts of severe droughts in the 1980s and working with the IPCC in the early 1990s. SRC has expertise and experience in vulnerability assessment and adaptation planning in the fields of forestry, agriculture, range management, water resources and communities. SRC was one of the lead partners in developing a framework and guidebook for forest managers on how to undertake vulnerability assessments and adaptation planning in the forest sector.
