City of Santa Cruz

City of Santa Cruz

The City of Santa Cruz, CA, has both a Climate Action Plan and a Climate Adaptation Plan (2018-2023). The latter includes the City’s first sea level rise vulnerability assessment, producing climate hazard map projections at 2030, 2060 and 2100; and the City’s first social vulnerability assessment, producing maps with census blocks deemed the highest socially vulnerable as they intersect with climate hazard map projections.

It also leads the Resilient Coast Santa Cruz Initiative, developing out its Coastal Change Monitoring Program to implement the City’s adaptation pathways approach to coastal management.
