Himachal Pradesh is a state in the northern part of India, situated in the Western Himalayas. The Government of Himachal Pradesh is the supreme governing authority of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It consists of an executive branch, a judiciary and a legislative branch. Like in other Indian states, the executive arm of the state is responsible for the day-to-day management of the state. It consists of the governor, the chief minister and the Council of Ministers.
The Department of Environment, Science Technology and Climate Change, which was created in 2007, has the objectives to improve the effectiveness of environmental management, protect vulnerable ecosystems and enhance sustainability of development.
