On behalf of Franziska Wolf and the CLIMATE2020 Conference Team:

Call for papers!

The Online Climate Conference CLIMATE2020, 20-23 March 2020 – Integrating Mitigation & Adaptation Initiatives for a Better Management of Climate Change and Its Impacts is calling for papers.

The objective of the worldwide on-line climate conference CLIMATE2020 is to convey the most recent research results on climate change and its impacts, as well as to provide especially early career researchers from all over the world with the opportunity to present their findings at a global level. This event fills a knowledge gap in respect of thematic discussions on climate change mitigation and adaptation, which will be performed both in an integrative and interactive way. The conference also offers you insights on numerous climate projects, initiatives and strategies, which are currently being implemented on the five continents and considered to be latest examples of worldwide climate change adaptation and mitigation activities. The best thing: You are only a mouse-click away from this event! You can easily log in over the Internet no matter where you are actually located: in your office, at school, university or on your smartphone on your way home! For further information, please visit

C2020 features compact summaries of latest research findings. For this reason, authors are encouraged to prepare a concise paper of no more than 1,000 words which may be achieved by summarizing an own recent research paper. All concise papers submitted within the CLIMATE2020 conference will be thoroughly assessed by a group of academic experts (peer review) in order to ascertain the relevance subject and the degree of novelty value and originality. Particular value in selecting the contribution will be placed on the research activities, that delivered tangible findings.

Scientific contributions will be grouped together in six major categories. They should meet the particular requirements of the global sustainable development goal SDG 13 (Climate Action), and document progress achieved to date. Key themes are:

  1. Resilience& Capacity Building – how to strengthen resilience and adaptive capacities to counteract climate-related hazards and the natural disasters of today and tomorrow;
  2. Intelligent Climate Policy & Governance – how to integrate the measures for mitigation and adaptation to the impacts of climate change into national policy, strategies and planning processes;
  3. Education, Awareness and Adaptation – how to facilitate educational programmes, raise awareness and foster the adaptive capacities of people and institutions in order to tackle climate change and reduce CO2 emissions;
  4. Climate Finance & Access to Funding – how to finance initiatives on adaptation to climate change and prevention of CO2 emissions in a credible and sustainable manner, and the role of global funding mechanisms (e.g. Green Climate Fund)
  5. Intelligent Climate Planning, Small Islands and Developing Countries – mechanisms, fostering the capacity building for more effective climate-related planning and climate change management in developing countries as well as small island developing states, including support of women, young people and marginalized population groups;
