Request for key informants interview: How can a web platform facilitate widespread adoption of CbA?
Hello!
I am looking to discuss my ongoing PhD research on Community-based adaptation/ local level adaptation in LMIC with CbA/LLA practitioners, as part of the key informants’ interview.
I am Subhashree, a Doctoral fellow (http://www.dlgs-dresden.de/fellows/subhashree-nath) at the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Regional and Urban Development ( https://www.ioer.de/en/ ), Dresden, Germany. My doctoral thesis focuses on community-based climate change adaptation, especially in under-resourced communities in low-middle income countries. Results from the systematic scoping review of existing literature conducted in the first part of the PhD research highlight some of the key barriers to community participation and successful implementation of CbA projects: power imbalance within communities, lack of reliable &/long-term financing, lack of relevant and accessible information availability, and unresponsive/ ineffective/ biased governance.
At the current stage, I am starting to conduct key-informant interviews: with practitioners, and researchers who have been working with the community to develop their resilience to various disturbances, including climate change. The interviews will help me test my hypothesis regarding different barriers to community-centric development and adaptation activities and the role of a digital decision-support system in overcoming these.
I appreciate you taking time out from your busy schedules and helping me start my journey as a CbA researcher (hopefully a practitioner as well). The interview is designed for not more than 45min, but a lengthier discussion is always welcome, should you have the time.
I hope to hear from you!
Best,
Subhashree
