WCS Climate Adaptation Fund 2022 Request for Proposals

The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Climate Adaptation Fund has released its request for proposals for the 2022 grant cycle. Their program supports projects that advance learning and scale effective climate adaptation interventions to help wildlife, ecosystems, and people. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 8, 2022.

The WCS Climate Adaptation Fund strives to increase the pace and scale of impact in adaptation for wildlife and ecosystems by increasing innovation, accelerating learning, and mainstreaming proven adaptation approaches.

The Fund will provide up to $2.5 million in competitive grants in 2022. Awards will be made to non-profit conservation organizations applying for one of two grant categories:

  1. Adaptation Implementation projects that apply innovative approaches to conservation actions designed to help wildlife and ecosystems adapt to climate change. These projects must include a monitoring plan to inform adaptive management decisions and evaluate progress towards project outcomes. These grants will be up to $300,000 over 3 years.

  2. Adaptation Mainstreaming projects that work to facilitate the conditions necessary to increase the uptake of an adaptation approach with known benefits. These grants will be up to $100,000 for 2 years.
