Director, Climate Policy
I am an expert in environmental governance, climate change economics, agricultural economics, and adaptation finance. At present, I function as Director, Climate Policy at the African Group of Negotiators Experts Support (AGNES) Nairobi, Kenya. I am responsible for climate policy action implementations, concept notes and proposal developments. I provide expertise that serve as interface between research and policy in Africa by providing evidence-based support to the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) to assist in crafting a common African position on climate policies as indicated in the NDCs or NAPs. In my capacity, I work with Government MDAs, Parliaments, Universities, Embassies, Research Centres, local NGOs as well as many international partners. I hold a Ph.D Economic Sciences (Climate Change Economics), Universite Cheikh Anta Diop, Dakar, Senegal in collaboration with ZEF Centre for Development Research, Universitat, Bonn, Germany. under initiative of the West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) programme, Accra, Ghana. My research interests are climate risk assessment; adaptation finance; climate smart agriculture, climate smart insurance, resource economics, impact evaluation, and sustainable livelihoods. I am a Research Fellow of the following; DAAD ClimapAfrica, UK-GCRF Research and Innovations, IDRC Adaptation Finance and Fellowship Programme, and the IDRC-African Climate Change Fellowship Programme (AfriCLP). I have 13 years of continuous university teaching, research and consulting experiences at the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nigeria and partly at the University of Nairobi, Kenya.
