Conéctate A+

Conéctate A+ is a network of researchers and institutions interested in deepening the interdisciplinary, rigorous and comparative analysis of the most important problems related to ecosystems, climate change, health and sustainable development in the Tropical Andes region – Central America (Andes+). Through critical reflection on the potential of the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) agenda to help shape more sustainable and equitable futures, this network seeks to make these issues visible in policy development, implementation and monitoring processes.

Conéctate A+ aims to strengthen the capacity to achieve the SDGs in the Andes+ region, providing an appropriate platform to promote knowledge generation, information exchange and academic collaboration opportunities between Swiss universities and other key actors who play a role active in the debate, formulation and application of the most innovative sustainable development strategies and policies in this region.

This network:

• Proposes a new form of interdisciplinary South-South and North-South academic collaboration between research institutions in Switzerland and the Andes+ region.
• Articulates the most relevant findings and current debates on sustainable development and environmental governance in academic research in the Andes+ region.
• Produces reliable knowledge on sustainable development and environmental governance in the Andes+ region, which will emphasize the articulation between knowledge and action in key decision-making and policy implementation processes. 
• Contributes to the formulation and application processes of new sustainable development strategies and projects.
