Finding Points of Engagement to Integrate Climate Change Adaptation into Water Management Planning
The main lesson learned in the NCAP Guatemala project pertain to assessing the appropriate points of engagement for introducing climate change considerations into policy setting and decision making processes. Although the focus of NCAP in Guatemala was on the water sector, the project attempts to build a general structure for successful engagement with policy makers and leaders on the issue of climate change adaptation.
The Water Evaluation and Planning system (WEAP) tool was applied in this case study.
